Fashion Week is here and BOY am I enjoying it! I’ve scoured every Spring ’17 show to date to bring you the latest and greatest trends from New York and London Fashion Week.
If I gleaned anything from the runway this season, it’s that symmetry is overrated. This trend manifested across multiple collections through a surprising medium: earrings. I was particularly captivated by J.W. Anderson‘s show, where he styled models with either mismatched earrings or a single one.
Fellow London Fashion Week designer Mary Katrantzou embraced this trend too, sending all of her models down the runway with single earrings. The look was timely and beautiful, as evidenced below.
From jumpsuits to dresses, exposed shoulders dominated the runway this season. Personally, I’m lusting over Vera Wang‘s dreamy off-the-shoulder designs. As a more conservative dresser myself, this trend is a dream come true. Bare shoulders are a sexy way to show some skin without thinking twice about eating a burrito. Hooray!
Sleeves brought the wow factor to the runway this season. I love all the iterations below that play with volume and texture in dramatic, yet wearable ways. I’m particularly smitten with Preen‘s feminine, Old World take on this.
In my humble opinion, Prabal Gurung‘s pleated sleeves were the highlight of his collection. Just look at how elegantly they move down the runway! That’s what I call a showstopper.
